Peter High
High is a common word but an uncommon name. This week I was at a convention on the Gold Coast of Australia and when I checked into my hotel the receptionist said "Hi" and I said "Hi" and she said "name" and I said "High" and she said "Hi" and I said "Hi" and she said "name" and I said "High" and she said "hi".... There were people who had walked in behind me and they were already heading up to their room and I was still down in the foyer introducing myself.... My initials are P High so that's not a great alternative either.
My life career past, present & hopefully future has been sales & marketing and now author. Over the years I have been complimented by friends and colleagues alike as being a very good story teller (which I suppose goes hand in hand with sales & marketing) I've always found a way to use humour as a strategy or distraction depending on the situation. I attribute myself as having what I deem as experiential maturity. I've come to realise over the years and unlike various other levels of maturity that you can't fast track experiential maturity, you can only acquire it by living the years. These years through different careers, and failed marriages as well as being a solo dad bringing up my two sons have contributed to my status of having a degree of experiential maturity. Why I wrote Saving Donkey
I started writing this book as a bit of a legacy to leave my sons and my grandchildren and great grandchildren about where I am in life and what I believe in. I intended to get half a dozen copies edited and professionally printed and give it to them. Andrew Killick is an editor who was recommended to me who does a great job and an all round nice guy. After reading the draft Andrew said this is good and he felt it had potential for a wider audience and he was happy to manage the editing and publishing and along with colleague graphic designer Bryan Hefer from Bryandesign took the challenge to design my book cover and launch my website.
Why you should read Saving Donkey
I would hope you would get from this book that little piece of something special that I got out of writing it. Plus I would like to think this book would wet a little appetite for my next book that I've just started writing which I'm really excited about titled:
"Saving Donkey - Saving Denzil". |
